Qualifications

- Basic Requirement for Natural Resources Specialist:
- A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
- B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on matters concerning pest control such as, (1) providing technical recommendations on issues related to pest control management; (2) ensuring pest management projects are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations; (3) coordinating with local, state and federal agencies regarding integrated pest management protocols, procedures and reporting.

- Foreign Education Evaluation: Foreign education must be evaluated to determine equivalency to U.S. education standards.
- Pre-Employment Screening: Appointment to this position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing.

- Probationary Period: Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Lifting Requirement: This position requires lifting up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Physical Exam: The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment Physical Exam and an annual exam thereafter.
- Education: The position requires a degree or combination of education and experience as outlined above.
