Natural Gas Engineer - Transmission and Facilities

About the role

Kimley-Horn's Warrenville, Illinois (IL) office is seeking a Natural Gas Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their team. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering design efforts, working closely with Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, and other disciplines.
• Provide technical leadership for Natural Gas pipeline and facility engineering.
• Design of pipeline facilities such as metering/regulating stations and compressor station.
• Development of PFDs, P&IDs, plans, sections, details, and associated bills of materials.
• Perform engineering calculations to support technical studies, reports, and design decisions.
• Coordinate supporting activities including surveying, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition.
• Prepare material and equipment specifications to support procurement and factory acceptance testing.
• Lead proposal development and scope definition, including conceptual designs, execution plans, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Experience in the design of electric transmission lines and/or distribution systems.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).

Skills

• Proficiency with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8 (preferred).
• Experience with task management, concept design, and assisting project management tasks (preferred).
• Familiar with coordinating with clients, attending client meetings, and overseeing quality standards (preferred).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D - CADWorx (preferred).

Pay

$100,000 - $160,000
