About the role

This position is an entry level position for individuals who are seeking to learn critical skills related to the means and methods used in the construction of electrical substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy (solar and wind) collection systems. They will also acquire a strong understanding of the requirements associated with daily reporting, quality assurance/quality control, environmental compliance, and safety compliance. The FCMA may be asked to stand in for the FCM if needed.

Responsibilities

- Provide critical support to the Field Construction Manager who is directly responsible for the actual construction of complex projects. - Assist the FCM with administrative duties associated with the project. - Secondary supervision of subcontractor’s activities. - Material receiving and accurate material inventory. - Safety support. - Quality control/quality assurance support. - Daily on-site reporting support. - Environmental compliance inspections. - Report directly to the on-site Field Construction Manager for all project specific issues. - Report to the Field Construction Manager Superintendent for assignment to the projects, for general installation practices, and inspection processes.

- Effective communication skills and clear leadership for all subcontractors involved in the execution of the project. - A positive attitude and ability to work cooperatively with clients, colleagues, engineers, subcontractors, and clients. - A sense of urgency and ability to push projects forward without sacrificing quality or safety.
