Össur Americas | FIOR & GENTZ Neuro Orthotics National Sales Manager, Neuro Orthotics Americas Build the US neuro orthotics business for a global mobility leader, starting from an early stage foundation and a technology that is changing what a brace can do. Role at a glance Reports to: Vice President of Sales, Össur US Work model: Remote, home based in a major metro with strong airport hub Location preference: East Coast or Southeast preferred, open to major Metro cities across the US Team: Four today, two sales representatives and two clinical sales specialists, growing with the business Travel: Frequent domestic field travel, including overnights Function: Sales leadership, national scope, FLSA exempt The opportunity Össur is a global leader in prosthetics, bracing, and neuro orthotics, and part of Embla Medical. In early 2024 the company acquired FIOR & GENTZ, a German developer of custom neuro orthotic systems founded in 1997, and moved into a category that had been underserved for decades. The technology is proven in Europe. In the United States it is just getting started. That is the job. You will own the US neuro orthotics business, take it from an early stage run rate to $10 million in annual revenue, and build the team and the sales model that carry it past that. You will have a global brand behind you, a portfolio no competitor can match, and enough open ground that your decisions will shape how this business looks for years. 01 A build, not a maintenance job The US business is early stage. You set the go to market model, the account strategy, and the standards the team runs on, with the near term mandate of reaching $10 million in annual revenue. 02 A category that is still being created Microprocessor control inside a KAFO is not yet standard of care. The NEURO HiTRONIC is PDAC verified for the L-2006 code, which gives you a reimbursement path most competitors do not have. 03 The backing of a global leader Össur and Embla Medical bring the brand, the clinical education engine, the service fabrication center, and an acquisition strategy that will keep adding to your portfolio. Why this market is moving now The category is finding its footing in the US Prosthetics and Neuro Orthotics is Embla Medical's largest and fastest growing segment, representing roughly 54 percent of company sales and on track for about $550 million in 2026, up from roughly $240 million in 2022. The segment grew 12 percent organically in the second quarter of 2026, and leadership specifically pointed to early traction on the bionic knee brace in the United States, tied to a new reimbursement code. Industry coverage of the FIOR & GENTZ acquisition put the neuro orthotics market at roughly $500 million globally. The US portion of that opportunity is largely unclaimed. The patient need is not in question. Stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, and CMT all produce gait deficits that a well built custom orthosis can change dramatically. What you will sell The FIOR & GENTZ Portfolio Spans Mechanical, Carbon, And Bionic System Joints For The Ankle And The Knee, Along With The Components, Therapeutic Footwear, And Tools Needed To Build Custom AFOs And KAFOs. Three Things Make The Sale Distinct Bionic system joints. The NEURO HiTRONIC is a microprocessor controlled hydraulic knee joint and the smallest and lightest of its kind, with sensor data processed 400 times per second. The NEURO HiSWING R+ is the first electronic microprocessor controlled system ankle joint in orthotics. Together they give patients intelligent stance phase control and a dynamic ankle in one system. A reimbursement path. The NEURO HiTRONIC is PDAC verified for HCPCS code L-2006, which covers a custom fabricated knee ankle foot device with swing and stance phase microprocessor control. That code is what turns advanced technology into a business a clinic can actually run. A full clinical program, not just parts. The 360 degree Orthotics approach walks a clinician through six steps, from patient assessment and evidence based product selection through the orthosis configurator, fabrication, structured handover, and maintenance. The service fabrication center in Orlando produces custom AFOs and KAFOs for customers who want to remove fabrication risk, and accredited education courses give your team real content to bring into accounts. What you will own Build the commercial engine Own the US neuro orthotics revenue number and the plan behind it, in partnership with US sales leadership. Design a repeatable sales model for a product category that most accounts have not bought before, covering targeting, clinical proof, trial, and close. Grow the business inside O&P clinics that focus on custom solutions, including Veterans Affairs, while opening up prescribers, physiatrists, physical therapists, and payors. Develop pricing and program strategy that grows volume without giving away margin. Identify new segments and channels, and help launch products that arrive through acquisition. Lead and grow the team Lead a team of four today, two sales representatives and two clinical sales specialists, and add headcount as the revenue supports it. Recruit, onboard, and develop sales talent, and set a clear line between the clinical specialist who supports the sale and the representative who closes it. Spend real time in the field on ride-alongs and customer visits, coaching in the moment rather than from a dashboard. Set quotas, territories, and incentive plans, and hold the team to them fairly. Run the business with discipline Deliver forecasts that hold up, using Salesforce, pipeline analytics, and what you learn in the field. Keep pipeline hygiene and performance reporting current so leadership has a clear view at all times. Work closely with clinical education, customer service, service fabrication, marketing, and market access, since none of this closes in isolation. Bring market intelligence back to senior leadership on competitors, reimbursement shifts, and where the category is heading. What success looks like in the first year ▸ You know the top 100 US accounts capable of delivering custom neuro orthoses, and you know which ones will move first. ▸ The sales model is written down, the team is running it, and the forecast is credible. ▸ Bionic solution volume is growing quarter over quarter, with reimbursement understood and documented across your accounts. ▸ You have a staffing and territory plan tied to revenue, ready to execute as the numbers come in. What you bring Required Ten or more years in sales, with meaningful experience leading and developing outside sales professionals. Seven or more years selling medical devices or life science products. A track record of building something rather than inheriting it, whether that was a new territory, a new product launch, or an early stage business inside a larger company. Comfort with a technical, clinical sale where reimbursement is part of the conversation. Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills, and the judgment to know which numbers matter. Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience. An advanced degree is welcome. Preferred Background in orthotics and prosthetics, bracing, or orthopedics, and familiarity with the O&P distribution channel. Experience introducing a technology before it became standard of care. Experience integrating and launching acquired product lines. Working here This role is home based and travels frequently, including overnights, so you should live in a major metro with strong nonstop air service.
