Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and supervisors on performance, coaching, organizational changes, and conflict resolution; lead workplace investigations and facilitate corrective outcomes, coordinating with Corporate People Resources as needed.
- Guide managers through progressive discipline, termination planning, and documentation in accordance with company policy, collective bargaining agreements (as applicable), and federal, state, and local requirements (including EEO and unemployment claims).
- Champion company initiatives to foster company culture and employee engagement
- Own full-cycle recruitment for designated roles (intake, postings, screening, interviews, selection and offers); craft compelling postings and ensure a great candidate experience. Expectation would be recruitment for 3-6 jobs at any given time.
- Support individualized development planning, succession insights, and targeted development for high-potential talent.
- Care for the annual employee engagement survey, customer satisfaction surveys, focus groups, action plans, and follow-through on commitments; enable local engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
- Facilitate HR updates at regional meetings as needed.
- Communicate, train, and guide HR performance management processes (goal setting, feedback, reviews).
- Own your admin: HRIS transactions and data integrity; letters (offers, changes, discipline), file management, onboarding/offboarding tasks, benefits enrollments/changes, leave and disability administration (as applicable), and liaise with benefits and insurance providers.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (including wage and hour and EEO/anti-discrimination requirements); prepare for and support audits.
- Support more complex leave/absence and accommodation administration in line with policy and applicable requirements (e.g., FMLA, ADA, and state leave programs), coordinating with benefits/leave vendors as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years progressive HR experience; experience in unionized environments considered an asset
- Strong track record in employee relations and workplace investigations.
- Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and hands-on, self-sufficient with HR admin and HRIS.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); HRIS experience an asset.
- Post-secondary education in HR and/or HR certification considered a plus
