Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Distribution Centre, optimizing warehouse performance and the distribution network, improving inventory accuracy, and workforce productivity.
- Lead national distribution planning and execution, overseeing the distribution network to dealers, end-user customers, and branch offices, aiming to optimize cost-effective delivery, enhance service levels, and ensure product availability across multiple locations.
- Collaborate with internal customers (procurement, sales, customer service, and state/branch managers) as well as external customers (logistics partnerships and distribution contracts) to meet performance standards and achieve seamless end-to-end delivery.
- Maintain KPIs for warehousing and transport operations, implement continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and service levels using Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies.
- Develop a high-performing distribution warehouse team, foster a culture of safety, accountability, and customer focus.
- Manage distribution data, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives that improve the customer experience and drive business results.
Requirements
- Tertiary level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, or a relevant discipline, or equivalent Distribution Centre, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations experience.
- Distribution management experience working in similar roles within engineering, distribution, or related industry sectors.
- Exceptional supervision, leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset to drive performance across the end-to-end supply chain.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- A strong customer service focus and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, complex environment, often under tight timeframes.
- Proven success in project delivery, improvement processes, and change management.
- Expertise in distribution systems, vendor metrics, and logistics platforms.
Qualifications
- Residency or valid working rights, as well as a current driver's license.
- A pre-employment medical (including drug & alcohol screen) and criminal record check may form part of the recruitment process.
