About the role
Paws for Purple Hearts (PPH) and Bergin College of Canine Studies (BUCS) are seeking a National Client Manager to support their mission of “Helping dogs help people.” This role serves as the primary point of contact for U.S. Veterans and mobility-limited individuals seeking Service Dogs, Facility Dogs, or Senior Service Dogs.
Responsibilities
- Guide clients through the entire process—from initial inquiry and application to dog placement and long-term follow-up support.
- Create successful, lifelong human-canine partnerships that foster independence, trust, healing, and social connection.
- Support research, program development, curriculum advancement, and collaboration between PPH and Bergin College Of Canine Studies to continually improve service dog training and placement programs.
Requirements
- Experience working with veterans and individuals with disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
- Knowledge of service dog training and placement processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, sociology, disability studies).
- Experience in canine training or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of ethical considerations in animal-assisted therapy.
