About the Role
The National Accounts Territory Manager is responsible for strategically and profitably growing Coastal’s business in the assigned territory by introducing key products and managing programs designed to increase Coastal’s footprint. Utilizing a consultative approach, this role differentiates Coastal from competitors by educating existing national accounts on Coastal’s value-added proposition through training and presentations for select brands and product offerings. This is a field-based role that will spend the majority of time managing partnerships on-site at national account/home center locations in the state of Connecticut and the Hudson Valley area.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and closes opportunities within existing key target customers.
- Introduces new products and constructs sales programs for distribution.
- Understands market competitors and determines best practices for program conversions.
- Drives brand awareness and acts as a brand liaison in new distributor markets.
- Conducts brand trainings with distribution partners.
- Builds collaborative business relationships with store managers, Pro desk associates, outside sales, and inside sales.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops and other resources.
- Maintains and updates brand sample inventory as needed.
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems and presenting solutions.
- Works closely with Inside Sales and Operations to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Communicates price changes effectively and manages the claims process within the territory.
- Maintains high customer satisfaction and ensures information is provided according to timelines.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5 years of sales or related experience, with a demonstrated track record of achieving results.
- Experience working with home centers is preferred, but not required.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to effectively facilitate group presentations and training sessions.
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Solution-oriented mindset with a strong focus on building long-term customer relationships.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel daily via car within assigned territory.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License with the ability to travel as needed.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
Education
College degree or equivalent job-related work experience.
