About the role
Hachette Book Group is seeking a National Account Manager to sell children's titles to key accounts such as Mass Retailers, Wholesale Clubs, and Readerlink.
Responsibilities
- Maximizing sales growth on frontlist and backlist titles throughout the year
- Preparing and presenting all titles to the accounts on a regular basis during seasonal previews, sales calls, and strategy meetings
- Communicating with the wider sales team and Publishing regarding account activity and strategy and reorders
- Representing the account at all internal meetings including Launch, Strategy, Sales conference, and sales and marketing meetings
- Running weekly and monthly sales reports, including point of sale, sell-in recaps, market share updates, and seasonal promotions
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of sales experience in an account management role; children’s publishing experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience with public speaking preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time
- Ability to work well under pressure, and meet strict deadlines
- Prioritized ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Power BI experience preferred
Qualifications
The position is based out of our NYC office on a hybrid schedule. Please note our current hybrid model is 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home.
Skills
Proactive, strong presentation skills, commercial acumen and sales analysis skills are also vital to this highly visible sales role.

Schedule
