About the role

Nassau BOCES is seeking candidates for Certified Teaching Positions in the secondary schools for the academic year 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Mathematics to high school students.
• Instruct students according to the curriculum and standards set by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
• Maintain classroom discipline and ensure student safety.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to both students and parents.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective learning programs.

Requirements

• New York State Education Department (NYSED) Certification.
• Fingerprint clearance is required prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Strong subject matter expertise in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Mathematics.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in secondary education preferred.
