Summer Teacher Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and submit weekly lesson plans
• Lead lectures and hands-on activities
• Assign homework and projects to help students learn the material
• Administer quizzes and tests to measure their progress
• Provide extra help to students when necessary
• Maintain all required data and record-keeping for summer programming
• Monitor and record student attendance in Powerschool
• Determine and implement classroom management procedures
• Communicate documented student incidents to building leaders
• Effectively communicate with parents/guardians when necessary
• Administer assessments and maintain documentation of student progress
• Adhere to established laws, policies, rules and regulations
• Use effective, positive interpersonal skills

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least a bachelor's degree in your field
• Valid teaching license (at least 7-12 in content area)
• Taught for at least 2 years in the classroom
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Flexibility to work with high needs students in a heterogeneous environment
