High School Summer Program Paraeducator

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• An Associate's degree, a Bachelor's degree, or a qualifying score on the ParaPro Assessment
• Prior experience working with students in a similar position
• Experience with working in a high school setting
• Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist students with comprehension of material across various subject area classrooms
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment
• Work closely with the special education teachers
• Encourage students to build their confidence in their own abilities to learn
• Aid in tutoring and/or modifying student work in addition to any other duties assigned by the building leads or program director

Benefits

• Non-certified teachers/Paraprofessionals: $17.50 per hour
• Union Paraprofessionals: $25.00 per hour
