About the role
Root Seventy Three is a youth-led artist development initiative built by and for the local community. We operate an open-door, community-rooted recording studio in London, focusing on nurturing new and young artists serious about their craft. Our mission is to provide access to equipment, space, and time for artists to write and record, along with industry experience and opportunities for collaboration, showcasing work, and cross-promotion.
Through a partnership with Ditto Music Publishing, we support artists with distribution, marketing, and monetisation. In 2019, we launched The Silhouettes Project to highlight the new generation of underground Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Soul music in the UK. This project embodies our belief that community, professional facilities, and a supportive network can produce incredible results. We aim to unify artists creating groundbreaking music who need a solid structure and deserve greater recognition.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of young and emerging artists through mentorship and access to studio resources.
- Facilitate collaboration, showcasing, and cross-promotion opportunities for artists within the community.
- Assist in the operation of an open-door, community-focused recording studio.
- Engage with artists to provide industry experience and guidance on music production, distribution, and marketing.
- Contribute to initiatives like The Silhouettes Project to amplify underground talent in Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Soul.
