About the Role
As a Navy MWR Barista, you create the Navy MWR experience for our customers by providing legendary customer service with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. You are responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Navy MWR guiding principles of providing superior customer service to our patrons.
Responsibilities
- Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of the Navy MWR.
- Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
- Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues.
- Communicate information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create a positive working environment during each shift.
- Assist with new partner training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in partner morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager.
- Deliver legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a "customer comes first" attitude and connecting with the customer.
- Discover and respond to customer needs.
- Follow Navy MWR operational policies and procedures, including those for food safety, cash handling, and security, to ensure the safety of all partners and customers during each shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and product as needed.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments by using existing MWR organizational methods.
Requirements
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- Must meet federal suitability requirements, including successful completion of a background investigation.
- Ability to perform tasks involving several procedures.
- Knowledge of food handling techniques and portion control.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must have a working knowledge or ability to learn sanitation standards, including procedures to prevent contamination (e.g., cleaning equipment previously used for raw food, using chemical sanitizer, or maintaining proper water temperature when cleaning dishes).
- Must be able to pass food service screening and training.
Additional Information
