Ready to build something better? Join our team and grow with us! Worthington Enterprises is looking for an MVH Operator on night shift to produce propane cylinders used by customers across the country.
About the role
This experienced machinist works in conjunction with other members in the main valve housing department to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met, with little downtime, through machining parts needed to meet customers' needs and demands. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on cold headers/cold formers and multi-spindle screw machines
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to machine parts to specification while maintaining required tolerances
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure efficient and accurate production prior to approval
- Inspect finished product to verify conformance with quality standards and specifications
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Work independently and take ownership of assigned equipment and tasks
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement
- Follow all plant safety rules, policies, and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and transformation initiatives, including safety initiatives
- Assist team members as needed to support production goals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by lead, supervisor, or manager
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, assembly, machine operation, or related experience is helpful but not required
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to perform basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled, with exposure to varying temperatures
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts, 6pm to 6am, on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule
- Every other weekend off, working only 13 days a month
Pay
- Competitive pay with shift premiums
- Overtime pay: time-and-a-half for hours over 40/week and double-time for hours over 48/week
- Quarterly profit-sharing with no cap
