Musical Story Educator
About the role
The Lead/Assist Musical Story Educator at Scavenger Stories Learning is responsible for creating and facilitating workshops for children aged 1-12, maintaining a collaborative and inclusive environment, and supporting the overall curriculum development.
Responsibilities
- Work With Children
- Assist the Lead Story Educator in facilitating workshops for children ages 1-12
- Keep children on task with lessons
- Support and strengthen expectations and professionalism set by the Lead Story Educator
- Help with the creation of materials and lessons for upcoming workshops
- Work With Adults
- Build and sustain strong relationships with colleagues
- Participate in weekly meet-ups for curriculum planning, workshop preparation, and sharing reflections from workshops (over the phone or in-person)
Qualifications
- College Degree
- Self-aware and highly reflective to be able to give helpful feedback from live workshops
- 1.5 - 2 years of experience working with toddler/elementary age children in academic/extra-curricular settings
Other Considerations
- Theater experience is a major plus
- Preference will be given to those willing to work in Manhattan and Brooklyn
- Willing to comply with state, local or school related CDC guidelines for working with children (i.e. fingerprinting, background check, health requirements, etc.)
Compensation
$20-30/hour (6-10 hours per week to start)

We integrate literacy, environmental science, history and culture within our adventures for kids. Our experiences and program series guide and engage children using sports-themed narratives, treasure hunts, choose-your-own-adventure style quests and world exploration journeys.
