About the role

Thom Child & Family Services, located in Norwood, MA, is seeking a board-certified Music Therapist to join their team. As an Early Intervention Music Therapist, you will provide home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years) who have or are at risk for developmental delays, along with their families. You will partner with parents and caregivers to deliver individualized, evidence-based services that prioritize families’ needs, culture, and values.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of a client’s developmental status.
  • Provide direct services and developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 0–3 and their families.
  • Contribute to the development of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), identifying goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child’s development.
  • Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as required.
  • Deliver individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or risks in cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development.
  • Assess family and child strengths, resources, concerns, and progress.
  • Act as a service coordinator by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating intervention plans for each family on your caseload, ensuring adherence to procedures and timelines.
  • Provide supportive professional assistance to families and facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage development.
  • Assist families in advocating for their child.

Requirements

  • Degree and professional credentials/board certification as a Registered Music Therapist.
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Ability to build meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Adherence to confidentiality and professional boundaries standards.
  • Strong computer and documentation skills.
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual/bicultural skills are a plus.

$51,000–$60,000 yearly salary.
