Music Studio Instructional Faculty Pool 2026-2027

San Diego State University’s School of Music and Dance invites applications for its hourly part-time music studio instructional faculty pool. Appointments are typically made just prior to the start of each academic term, requiring availability on short notice.

About the role

• Expertise in music studio instruction
• Assignments are made by the Department Chair in 30-minute to 60-minute sessions
• Fall term: mid-August to late December; Spring term: mid-January to mid-May
• Applications remain active for the academic year in which they are submitted

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in music or commensurate professional experience
• University teaching experience
• Demonstrated expertise in the subject matter
