About the role

MUSC Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our dedicated Electrophysiology Department.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Electrophysiology (EP) Department Coordinator at MUSC Heart & Vascular – Columbia Medical Center Downtown.
  • Supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered electrophysiology care by coordinating daily operations, optimizing patient throughput, and serving as a clinical liaison between physicians, nursing, procedural areas, and administrative leadership.
  • Provides advanced clinical assessment and management for EP patients across the ambulatory and procedural continuum, including evaluation, treatment planning, patient education, and post-procedure follow-up.
  • Ensures alignment of clinical workflows, referral pathways, and patient access strategies to support growth of the EP program and enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Monitors clinical performance metrics, supports quality and safety initiatives, streamlines scheduling and resource utilization, and assists with developing standardized protocols and care pathways.
  • Serves as a point-of-contact for interdisciplinary teams, helps manage complex patient navigation issues, and contributes to education for staff, patients, and referring providers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years as an Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in cardiology (EP experience preferred but not required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required for adult inpatient positions.
  • DHEC and DEA license applications must be started prior to first day.
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to triage complex patients.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently across multiple providers and care settings.
  • Interest in program building and systems-based practice.

Qualifications

  • Completed graduate degree from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as an NP or PA in South Carolina.
  • Current certification in BLS and ACLS.
  • Experience in cardiology (EP experience preferred but not required).
