About the Role
At HCA Healthcare's brand new Murrells Inlet Freestanding ER, the Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and state/specialty scope and standards. The RN collaborates with medical providers and care teams to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." Serving as a patient and family advocate, the RN supports the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate and resolve patient needs.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, patient status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures using clear, non-technical language.
- Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as lifestyle changes, healthy diet, exercise, and disease prevention.
- Prepare patients and families for future self-management.
Requirements
- Current RN (Registered Nurse) license.
- Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
