About the role

Tyro Athene is seeking a mid-level Munitions Analyst to provide subject matter expertise on munitions management across the Department of the War (DoW).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Office of the Secretary of War, Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE), Joint Data Support (JDS) / Defense Analyst Support Hub (DASH) and the Joint Staff.
  • Provide support to the Pentagon and may require travel to/rotational duty at other offices in the National Capital Region such as the Mark Center.
  • Analyze worldwide conventional munitions inventories across all services Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
  • Forecast supply and demand to plan future inventory levels.
  • Produce bi-weekly High Interest Munitions Report (HIMR).
  • Collect munition inventory and expenditure data.
  • Review munitions planning and programming across the Joint Logistics Enterprise.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as an action officer working in DoW with munitions familiarity and an intermediate data analysis capability.
  • A strong work ethic, team player, excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong analytic and technical skills, customer service abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Financial Management, or related fields such as International Relations & Global Security, Munitions System Technology, etc.
  • 12 years of experience or a master’s degree and 7 years of experience in the field of personnel, manpower, logistics, operations, acquisition, security, or other relevant functional area.
  • Thorough understanding of the functions of the Office of the Secretary of War, Combatant Commands, Military Services, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Defense Agencies and other federal departments to support analytical processes in the munitions and logistics functions for decisions that affect global readiness.
  • Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to support quick response papers/briefings/slides and scripted senior leadership briefings/slides related to the Munitions Logistics Analyst role.
  • Demonstrated abilities to develop papers and present briefings.
  • Experience in customer relationship management.
  • Issue resolution skills.
  • Technically proficient with Microsoft Office suite. PowerPoint and Excel expertise.
  • Experience handling classified materials.

Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.

Schedule

The position is located at the Pentagon and may require travel to/rotational duty at other offices in the National Capital Region such as the Mark Center.

Security Clearance

Active DoD Top Secret clearance (with SCI clearance if desired, polygraph not required).
