Municipal Service Worker I - Landscape

About the role

The City of Williamsburg’s Landscape Division is seeking candidates for the Municipal Service Worker I position. The role involves performing a variety of municipal maintenance activities that require manual labor and equipment operation in public works or public utilities areas. It is a semi‑skilled position that calls for some training and experience.

Requirements

Education and experience: a High School Diploma or GED equivalent; or six (6) months of experience performing heavy manual labor; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 18 months.
• Confined Space Certification.
• Flagger Certification.
• Trench and Shoring Certification.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• PACP certification.
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License.
• Must submit to criminal record and other checks as required.
