Landscape Worker I (Island Operations)

Responsibilities

• Performs various basic tasks in the upkeep and beautification of parks and city area grounds.
• Operates non-riding mower in city areas, beach areas, and other areas as assigned.
• Uses the weed whacker in areas inaccessible to mowing.
• Affixes and repairs general irrigation PVC pipe connections.
• Performs work with due regard to safety of self and fellow employees, exercising proper care and protection of Company property.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous Landscaping and/or Groundskeeping experience, preferred.
• Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
• Requires working to established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
• Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
• Able to create effective working relationships with employees.
• Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly sits, talks, and hears.
• Occasionally stands; walks; uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaches with hands and arms; climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
• Operates objects, tools, or controls occasionally.

$17.78/hour (non-exempt)
