About the role
The Municipal Court Prosecutor is responsible for representing the city in court proceedings, ensuring fair treatment of all parties involved.
Responsibilities
- Represent the city in civil and criminal court cases
- Prepare and present legal arguments and evidence
- Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel
- Manage case files and deadlines
- Stay updated on municipal laws and court procedures
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Bar admission in Texas
- Minimum of 3 years of legal experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Experience in municipal or local government law
- Knowledge of Texas municipal laws and court procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Skills
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
