About Our Team
Our Medical-Surgical Unit delivers comprehensive, patient-centered care to a diverse population, including vascular, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, chemotherapy, and GIP hospice patients. This dynamic unit provides exposure to a wide range of medical conditions and treatments, offering staff the opportunity to develop broad clinical skills while working collaboratively to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.
Responsibilities
A Multiskilled Technician who excels in this role:
- Perform basic patient care activities as delegated, including monitoring and recording vital signs, obtaining blood glucose measurements, and tracking and documenting patient intake and output
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, and feeding and meal assistance
- Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, or emotional status to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked patient rooms and care areas
- Perform clerical and administrative duties in support of nursing station operations
- Accurately document patient information and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS certification required
- Handle with Care preferred
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
- Rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems
- Effective English communication (read/write/speak)
- Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire
