Job Summary

The Clinic & Multi-Skilled Technician at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for providing basic laboratory, radiology, and/or nursing procedures as directed and within scope of practice, assisting physicians and nurse practitioners, and ensuring the proper use and maintenance of laboratory/radiological equipment. Additionally, this role involves accurate recordkeeping and documentation, patient and family education, adherence to regulatory guidelines, and participation in performance improvement activities.

Job Functions

  • Patient Care: Performs basic laboratory, radiology, and/or nursing procedures as directed and within scope of practice. Assist Physician/Nurse Practitioner as directed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Responsible for proper use and maintenance of laboratory/radiological equipment.
  • Recordkeeping/Documentation: Accurately and efficiently reports/documents patient care/status/information in medical record.
  • Customer Service: Provides patient/family teaching necessary for continuing care during and after discharge. Responsible for maintaining supplies necessary for quality patient care.
  • Education: Participate in performance improvement activities (EXCEL).
  • Regulatory: Adheres to NMHS/NMMC and Departmental Policies/Procedures/Guidelines. Complies with applicable State/Federal regulations/laws/policies/procedures/guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent or equivalent.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Certified or Licensed as LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), MLT (Medical Laboratory Tech), Medical Assistant, Registered Nurse or Radiological Tech, RT (Respiratory Therapy) with completion of program and appropriate education. Must maintain CPR Certification (American Heart Association-AHA).
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 1-year medical office or healthcare experience with laboratory/radiology training.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills; working knowledge of basic computers and computer software; demonstrates professionalism and personal integrity; organizes and prioritizes work flow; demonstrates conscience, flexibility, and openness to change; assures compliance with regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines; works independently as well as in team/group settings; extensive contact with: Patients, physicians, clinic personnel, family members and others; displays a professional demeanor at all times; maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
