About the role
Under the supervision of a healthcare provider, you will perform a variety of basic patient care activities.
- Performs basic patient care activities as delegated including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
- Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
- Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Assists with keeping patient rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
- Performs clerical duties, aligned with nursing station activities.
About Valley View Medical Center
Valley View opened in November 2005 as a 102,000-square-foot acute-care facility with two adjacent medical office buildings. Growth in the area meant growth at the hospital, and Valley View's main building is now 126,000 square feet. This state-of-the-art hospital is currently licensed with:
- 52 medical/surgical beds
- 12 acute rehabilitation beds
- 12 intensive care beds
- An eight-bed labor, delivery and post-partum unit
Valley View is the only all-private-bed hospital serving the Bullhead City/Laughlin/Needles area. Features include:
- Private rooms with individual restrooms (including showers), cable TV, and free local newspapers
- Some rooms with recliner loungers for family members
- Enhanced security and restricted access in the labor/delivery/obstetrics unit
The hospital also includes:
- A 16-bed emergency department open around the clock
- A surgery department with six major operating rooms and two endoscopy suites
- A modern, high-tech cardiac catheterization unit
- A diagnostic imaging department with digital mammograms, simple x-rays, PET-CTs for cancer detection, and nuclear medicine
- A Picture Archival Communication (PAC) system for instant access, storage, retrieval, and display of high-quality digital images
