Multiskilled Tech - 2 South Women's Days

About the role

The Multiskilled Tech II performs technical and clerical duties associated with the care and treatment of patients. The position is located at John Peter Smith Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care with consideration for age and development stage.
• Aid with patient care to minimize risks of infection, contamination, and patient injury.
• Obtain and record vital signs, I/O's, weights, basic ECG monitoring, venipuncture’s, bedside testing, and document in the patient's record as directed by licensed personnel.
• Deliver and obtain items from other areas of the hospital as needed.
• Prepare and assist with admissions, discharges, procedures, ambulation, and transfers of patients.
• Maintain adequate supply and equipment availability and stock according to established PAR levels.
• Perform clerical tasks such as faxing, copying, using a computer, printer, insurance coding, patient charges, and answering the phone.
• Monitor patients with restraints or on suicide precautions and document as directed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Requirements

• Current Nurse Assistant certification from the Texas Department of Public Health (CNAs only); or
• Current certification from a national registry as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA); or
• Current State of Texas registration (EMT); or
• Current Patient Care Tech certification (PCT).
• Current JPS recognized BLS-CPR Certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
• Must have current licensure, certification, or registration relative to the discipline used to qualify for the position and must be maintained throughout employment.
• Completion of Area Specific Competency Based Orientation Program within the first 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• 4737 Multiskilled Tech I: 0 -1.99 years of relevant experience.
• 4738 Multiskilled Tech II: 2-4.99 years of relevant experience.
• 4739 Multiskilled Tech III: 5-9.99 years of relevant experience.
• 4740 Multiskilled Tech IV: 10+ years of relevant experience.
