Multisite Kids Ministry Director - Multiple Locations

Summary of Role

The Campus Kids Ministry Director will direct a comprehensive children’s ministry (birth to 6th grade) to grow children in their walk and understanding of Jesus Christ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement a campus ministry plan through collaboration with the Centralized Families Director
  • Recruit, train, supervise and support an effective, organized, and growing team of Impact Team members
  • Regularly communicate with families and Impact Team members through multiple mediums (face-to-face, phone, social media, etc.)
  • Provide classroom leaders with the curriculum materials and tools needed to come to the environment prepared each weekend
  • Familiarize yourself with & distribute to Impact Team members the curriculum material, tools and activities needed to come prepared to the environments each weekend
  • Check with Impact Team members in Kindergarten – 6th grade environments during services to verify all Impact Team members are present, positions are filled, and ratios are met
  • Prepare with, evaluate during, and give feedback after services to large group and classroom Impact Team members
  • Evaluate every environment through the lens of a first-time guest and the lens of children and families
  • Work with the Centralized Kids Ministry Director to prepare all Kids Ministry environments for weekend services
  • Ensure that all Emmanuel Church safety and security protocols are consistently followed to provide for the safety of children in the ministry
  • Be the face of the ministry
  • Point families to resources for staying connected
  • Participate in the planning, execution and attendance of department and whole-church events and camps
  • Execute campus-specific initiatives
  • Coverage childcare workers to support events on campus
  • Perform other functions and duties as assigned by the Campus Pastor

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma required; college degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Previous experience in children’s ministry, paid or volunteer, required. Experience in leadership of staff & volunteers preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology. Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated. Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information. Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity.

Staff will be active & engaged in the church through serving, participating in a group, attending service, and tithing. Regularly participate in Emmanuel Church activities and events. Agree to abide by Emmanuel Church’s Expectations of a Staff Member which include: Financial support of the church with your household's tithe. Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings. Participate in community through small group. Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period off work each week).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands. Occasional need to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
