Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels
- Contribute to mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds
- Participate in outreach
- Contribute to departmental, college and university service
Research Areas Of Interest
- Impacts of science communication on the public and within media ecosystems
- Scholarly communication patterns, practices, norms and trends
- Theories of scientific innovation, collaboration and communication
- The circulation of, and countermeasures for, science misinformation/disinformation
- Open science policy, practice, incentives, obstacles and adoption
- Scientific data curation policy, practice and impact
- Inequality and knowledge production
- Collaboration practices in the sciences
- Domain” informatics research – e.g., biodiversity informatics, social informatics, geoinformatics, health informatics – grounded in information science methods and theories
Qualifications
- Strong research agenda
- Ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary department
- Ability to teach in multiple modalities and levels (e.g., both undergraduate and graduate)
- Skill in mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds
- Record of working on grant-funded teams, or promise for obtaining grants in the future
