Multimedia Specialist - Animations
Ho-Chunk Inc. Management Services (HCIMS) is seeking a full-time Multimedia Specialist to design and develop audiovisual, multimedia, and graphics projects supporting training initiatives at the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC) in Blackstone, VA. This role ensures Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) standards are met through collaboration with program offices, subject matter experts, and instructional designers.
Responsibilities
- Lead or assist in technical projects, including LAN connectivity, A/V equipment management, visual displays, and still/video shooting and editing, with potential support for simulator operations.
- Provide oversight and project management for multimedia initiatives.
- Support multimedia equipment in program office conference rooms and classrooms.
- Provide video and still camera support, including editing, for program offices.
- Research and collect multimedia materials for training development and other projects.
- Assist in connecting networked systems, including multiuser training simulators, and act as a simulator operator or participant.
- Design and develop artwork, displays, presentations, logos, brochures, posters, signs, and other informational materials.
- Develop digital displays and presentations in required formats.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new technologies in graphic arts, video recording, photo enhancement, and audio recording.
- Manage document control for all current and revised digital multimedia materials.
- Operate audiovisual presentation equipment, including digital cameras and LCD projectors.
- Create audio masters and sound tracks for presentations, DVDs/CD-ROMs, and video clips.
- Capture, retouch, and format digital photos for inclusion in course curriculum.
- Produce DVD/CD disk productions and edit video/audio for class presentations.
- Advise on the acquisition of new multimedia equipment and materials.
- Maintain professional competence and specialized knowledge in multimedia and graphics methodology.
- Occasional local travel may be required.
- Work independently on large projects (100+ hours) with minimal guidance or oversee collaborative work.
Requirements
- Seven plus (7+) years of demonstrated skilled work in computer graphics, multimedia, animation, videography, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience, preferably in a training environment.
- Two plus (2+) years of hands-on experience using Blender for 3D modeling, animation, rendering, motion graphics, and visual content creation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Blender, including modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting, rendering, and compositing workflows.
- Knowledge of digital graphics, image editing software, and desktop publishing programs.
- Intermediate knowledge of digital videography, including editing and video camera operation.
- Intermediate knowledge of design methods, techniques, and materials for visual product production and reproduction.
- Basic understanding of computer gaming systems.
- Intermediate computer software and hardware skills, including networks.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in digital photography and video recording.
- Proficiency in Windows Professional Operating Systems and/or iOS, particularly Microsoft applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer graphics, multimedia, animation, videography, or a related subject preferred.
Work Environment
- Professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- Must remain in a stationary position 75% of the time and occasionally move about to access office equipment.
- Constant operation of computers and office productivity machinery.
- Regular verbal communication to convey detailed or important instructions.
- Frequent movement of standard office equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Work primarily indoors (90% of the time).
- Regular requirements to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Schedule
- Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Evening and weekend hours may be required as needed.
Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $87,000 to $91,000 per year, negotiable depending on education and experience.
