Multifamily Accounting CPA

About the Role

Alexander Forrest Investments (AFI), a mid-sized multifamily real-estate management company based in Columbia, MO, is seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with direct experience in multifamily real estate to work on a contract basis. AFI specializes in the acquisition, development, financing, and management of real estate projects, with over 10,000 units under management across 20 states. This role involves integrating into existing accounting processes to provide quality control and develop scalable solutions to align AFI with best-practice accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Quality control of Monthly Financial Packages for dissemination to all Property Owners.
• Completion of corrections/journal entries on financial statements.
• CPA consulting work with AFI and/or applicable Property Owners.
• Development of Owner/Property-Specific Accounting Workflows.
• Report Standardization regarding both Accrual & Cash-Basis to be easily provided at Owners' request.
• Collaboration with the existing AFI Accounting Team to improve and develop new best-in-class processes.
• Handling other Owner/property-specific accounting requests and work items as they arise.

Qualifications

• CPA Certification—required.
• 3-5 years’ experience in Real Estate Accounting/Property Management.
• Exceptionally organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and concurrent deadlines.
• Positive attitude with strong teamwork skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must provide a list of 2-3 professional references.

Pay

$40.00 - $60.00 per hour
