Multicraft Maintenance Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Disassemble defective equipment and replace defective parts, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, etc.
• Adjust and repair automotive manufacturing equipment, perform repairs and services, and test equipment using hand tools and power tools.
• Reassemble, adjust, and test repaired equipment. Equipment testing includes operating machines during non-production hours to ensure quality parts and machine functionality.
• May specialize in repairing specific manufacturing equipment or non-specific equipment within the manufacturing process.
• Troubleshoot and modify equipment to maintain uptime, improve efficiency, and reliability of equipment and its systems.
• Oversee modifications by internal and external resources for process changes, new models, and expansion.
• Use computerized or manual Maintenance Information Systems to document equipment-related issues, repairs made, preventive and predictive maintenance measures taken, etc.
• Make necessary adjustments to parts and machinery to ensure proper production runs.
• Basic robotics and electrical circuit troubleshooting using computerized or manual systems.
• Facilitate root cause analysis for failures resulting in major downtime and implement measures to prevent reoccurrence within the affected business unit and across the facility.
• Optimize or upgrade equipment based on safety, quality, or production requirements.
• Interface with IBU associates (production supervision, etc.) to ensure issues are identified and resolved.
• Communicate with the production team.
• Ensure new parts are ordered or returned unused parts are placed back in the correct stock location.
• Practice good housekeeping on the shop floor and in assembly cells.
• Rotate shifts as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Education: Technical Associate's degree preferred or equivalent automated manufacturing experience required.
• Technical knowledge will be demonstrated through a technical assessment prior to hire.
• Work Experience / Technical Training: Minimum 4 years of automated manufacturing technical experience required. Kuka Robotics: 3 years (Preferred), Fanuc Robotics: 3 years (Preferred), Allen Bradley PLC: 3 years (Preferred), Siemens PLC: 3 years (Preferred).
