About the role
Centuri Group is a utility infrastructure enterprise operating throughout the US and Canada, providing safe gas, electric, and utility services. As a Safety Training Instructor, you will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical skills-based training and the evaluation of student's knowledge retention and application to their job role. You will collaborate with other safety team members and internal stakeholders to coordinate and deliver a comprehensive training program for employees.
Responsibilities
- Conduct training and training evaluations through extensive knowledge of electrical standards of practice
- Evaluate the skill level and competency of new hires and existing linemen in the apprenticeship program
- Instruct and evaluate field employees on compliance related to company, customer, and federal/state regulatory requirements
- Verify that all employees receive proper instruction on safety and technical skills
- Advance the safety culture of the workforce through engagement and demonstration of the Core Values in practical application
- Seek out opportunities to improve training content and delivery methods
- Employ learning theory strategies to maximize training for all types of learners and skill levels
- Develop and manage training/evaluation atmosphere conducive to proven adult learning and classroom management techniques
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; degree or professional accreditation preferred
- 10+ years electric transmission and/or distribution construction experience required. Prior training experience must be present within this requirement
- OSHA Authorized Trainer, FA/CPR/AED, and/or other safety training certifications preferred
- Ability to travel for overnight stays and arrange own travel
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, smartphone and tablet applications
- Must have excellent computer and organizational skills
- Bilingual a plus
Qualifications
