About the role

The Area General Manager will oversee multiple communities, including their "home" community and several Community General Managers, to ensure success in achieving NOI results and Operations OKRs. This in-person position is located on-site at two properties, with travel between locations required. The role reports to the VP of Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple Sentral communities—serve as the General Manager of a "home" community and provide oversight for an additional 2 or 3 communities (number subject to change).
  • Direct and lead the portfolio’s on-site team members by implementing policies, procedures, and practices to meet and exceed budgeted financial goals and operational performance objectives.
  • Provide strategy and leadership to multiple community management teams in an assigned region.
  • Create an executive management plan for the market and drive revenue and expense goals for the community.
  • Contribute to the establishment and refinement of work quality, cultural initiatives, and best practices to drive team results.
  • Manage client relationships to ensure seamless conflict resolution, account maintenance, and overall development.
  • Analyze property financial performance relative to other portfolio assets.
  • Review the annual budget submitted by the General Manager, providing feedback and commentary before submission to ownership.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory programs.
  • Review revenue, expenses, staffing levels, and guest reviews, implementing critical action plans as needed.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business or hotel administration.
  • 7+ years of related work experience in operations, preferably in the hospitality and multi-family industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to guide and motivate teams.
  • Excellent resolution skills and ability to work cross-functionally, identifying solutions and thinking outside the box.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, planning, sales development, and other business management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple communities.
  • Ability to maintain a motivating, positive work environment that holds team members accountable for results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Work in indoor and outdoor spaces, with and without covering.
  • Move throughout the property for extended periods of time.
  • Transport boxes and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Communicate with others in the building.
  • Observe details in surrounding areas and on a screen.
