Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith. Spiritual Development

  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life, including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word.
  • Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines in the context of active participation in a church community.
  • Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
  • Model spiritual development, dependence on prayer, and Spirit-led leadership.
  • Engage joyfully with team practices such as map, tree, list, and journal.

Responsibilities

General Adult Engagement

  • Coordinate adult engagement within the multi-Region geography on behalf of the VP and in alignment with International Development through:
    • Action Team Movement: Establish action teams at every team level.
    • Communications: Communicate vision and principles to the corresponding team.
    • Field Development: Partner with International Field Development in events and efforts such as Walk for Hope, donor engagement, campaigns, local giving initiatives, and training.
    • Expeditions: Take ownership of the region’s expeditions trips, formalizing the mechanism, filling and organizing trips, and enabling others to recruit for expeditions.
  • Supervise multi-regional Adult Engagement/development where applicable.
  • Serve as the hub for all extra multi-regional Development connections.

Multi-Regional Adult Engagement (South America)

  • Action Team Movement
    • Establish Action Team and lead for Multi-Region Geography in South America.
    • Help the Regions engage Action Teams through “come and see” Multi-Regional events.
  • Communications
    • Schedule meetings and provide notes.
    • Implement regular reporting for staff and donors on major gifts and their impact.
    • Coordinate and organize donor activities and initiatives.
    • Develop systems and train staff to track stewardship of major donors, sponsors, and campaign stakeholders.
    • Provide interpretation and translation services.
    • Maintain and update donor lists in YL Connect and Emma.
    • Ensure full engagement of Regional leaders in multi-regional campaigns (Walk for Hope, Known, etc.).
    • Monitor RCE (Relationship Center Engagement) campaigns for SVP, Campaign Director, ECC (Excellence in Camping Committee), and Known Campaign.
    • Provide donor portfolios through YLSC Development Services.
    • Handle donor care including end-of-year giving, Christmas cards, and thank-you notes.
  • Field Development
    • Coordinate and implement development initiatives.
    • Organize and provide logistics for the VP’s adult engagement trips to the US and South America.
    • Accompany multi-regional leaders on donor engagement visits to the US and other Multi-Regional countries.
    • Maintain corresponding Field lead donor weekly agendas.
    • Identify and develop staff and volunteers who contribute to fundraising at local and non-local levels.
    • Collaborate with service personnel assigned to projects within the Region.
    • Plan and execute Regional initiatives from launch to campaign completion.
    • Coordinate major donor engagements throughout the Region and participate as appropriate.
    • Provide excellent major gift follow-up and fund accountability.
    • Cultivate proficiency in Development best practices and tools (Workday/Budget, YL Connect, etc.).
  • Expeditions
    • Track Regional Expeditions trips and follow up with donor invitations.
    • Establish yearly measurable goals/objectives, metrics for new gift commitments, proposals, new prospects, and prospect meetings.
    • Implement strategic initiatives to grow or improve the Expeditions platform.
  • Personal Support Goals
    • Responsible for raising personal support.
    • Reach 100% of your personal support goal and steward expenses related to your Mission Unit.

Working Conditions

  • Remote office environment.
  • Attend all team meetings.
  • Travel as requested (approximately 10 days/year).

Qualifications

  • Integration of nomenclature, culture, and missional posture of the overall team.
  • Extensive Young Life knowledge.
  • Able to carry out the duties of the position and provide spiritual leadership.
  • Able to effectively manage the operational aspects of a region-wide office.
  • Able to work effectively with all field staff, supervisors, and Development Services staff.
  • Able to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Excel or other reporting applications; ability to become proficient in ASIST, Workday, and other Young Life-owned applications.

Education

BA degree preferred.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $25,750–$32,237 depending on relevant education, experience, and location. This range applies to U.S.-based roles only.
