About the Role

The Multi-Purpose Clerk - Night Crew is responsible for a variety of clerk positions and is cross-trained and internally certified for these roles. This position involves stocking grocery store shelves, pricing new items, offloading shipments, unwrapping, rotating, and packing boxes on an overnight shift. Workers may also perform order writing, freshness/quality checks, inventory accuracy tasks, and operate a check stand.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stock, display, price, and face product
• Break down loads including unwrapping, rotating, and packing boxes
• Order writing and ensuring item-to-tag integrity
• Report all risks or safety issues to management
• Ensure proper temperature in cases/coolers
• Maintain inventory accuracy
• Minimal operation of cash register
• Sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas
• Know the location of the MSDS binder and information about materials used during work
• Operate forklift if authorized and certified
• Operate commercial baler if authorized to compress cardboard
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of three months or equivalent experience
• High School diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience/training
• Availability to work a variety of retail hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Availability to work overnight shift
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance and up to 85 lbs on occasion
• Ability to carry up to 80 lbs on occasion
• Ability to push up to 85 lbs on occasion
• Ability to pull up to 92 lbs on occasion
• Requires standing and other physical movements on a frequent basis
• Ability to work in fluctuating temperature levels, including cold rooms and freezer units
• Ability to operate tools such as step stools, carts, registers, safety cutters, rolling ladders, food preparation equipment, and cleaning supplies

Pay

Hiring pay range: $18.46 - $27.00 per hour
