Multi-Plant Controller – Foam Manufacturing

Multi-Plant Financial Leadership

Serve as the primary finance leader for the Mississippi facility with direct oversight and support responsibilities for the Tennessee plant.
Partner with plant leadership at both locations to drive financial performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Ensure consistency in financial practices, reporting, and internal controls across both operations.

Cost Control and Analysis

Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs across both facilities to ensure alignment with budgets and operational targets.
Identify, investigate, and explain variances between actual and standard/budgeted costs.
Lead cross-site cost reduction initiatives and share best practices between plants.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Develop and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts for Mississippi and Tennessee operations.
Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to project production costs and financial outcomes.
Provide actionable financial insights to support plant-level and business unit decision-making.

Financial Reporting

Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports for both plants.
Deliver clear insights into plant performance, KPIs, and profitability to the CFO and leadership team.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and corporate reporting requirements.

Inventory and Working Capital Management

Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, and reconciliation across both plants.
Partner with operations to optimize inventory levels and reduce obsolescence and carrying costs.
Drive standardization of inventory controls and procedures.

Production and Operational Analysis

Analyze production metrics, labor efficiency, yields, and key performance indicators.
Monitor foam-specific production economics including raw material consumption, chemical usage, scrap rates, and yield variances to identify cost reduction opportunities.
Work closely with plant managers to identify operational challenges and improvement opportunities.
Translate operational data into financial insights that improve performance.

Financial Strategy & Business Partnership

Contribute to financial strategy across the manufacturing business unit.
Act as a trusted advisor to plant leadership in both locations.
Align financial goals with broader company objectives and growth initiatives.

Compliance, Controls, and Auditing

Ensure adherence to accounting principles, internal controls, and company policies across both facilities.
Support internal and external audits.
Standardize and strengthen the financial control environment.

Process Improvement

Identify and lead process improvement initiatives across multi-site operations.
Promote standardization, automation, and efficiency in financial processes.
Share and implement best practices across plants.

ERP & Systems

Utilize ERP systems to manage and analyze financial and operational data.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial transactions across both locations.
Support system improvements and reporting enhancements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with production, supply chain, and corporate finance teams.
Foster collaboration and alignment between Mississippi and Tennessee operations.
Provide financial leadership support across multiple departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • CMA certification desired
  • Proven experience as a Controller or senior finance leader in a manufacturing environment (multi-site experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience in foam, insulation, building products, or chemical/process manufacturing preferred
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, plant operations, and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across multiple locations
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and ERP systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with operations leadership
  • Willingness to travel periodically between Mississippi and Tennessee facilities
