Responsibilities

Under the direction of the supervisor, this position must perform all functions related to a minimum of two modalities: including CT or MRI or serve the Hybrid OR in addition to general Radiology Technologist duties. Performs high-quality procedures that require ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment. Duties include and are not limited to performing routine tests, monitoring the quality of tests, and obtaining maintenance service on equipment. This position may require providing technical and imaging support at any HonorHealth facility in the network.

  • Must perform all functions related to a minimum of two of the following modalities: Radiology, CT, MRI, or serve the Hybrid OR in addition to general Radiology Technologist duties.
  • Assists physician in a variety of procedures within specified guidelines as demonstrated by documentation.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in performing procedures in accordance with proper procedures and within specified timeframes as ordered and directed.
  • Assists physicians with procedures as needed.
  • Obtains accurate and pertinent clinical and patient history within specified guidelines.
  • Answers patient questions and explains procedures.
  • Operates equipment within specifications as demonstrated by observation and audit.
  • Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by specified procedure protocols.
  • Utilizes RIS, PACS, and other ancillary image management systems as needed.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates daily workflow for the department’s activities.
  • Maintains equipment in efficient operating order, performs and documents all required quality control testing, and contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
  • Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
  • Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.
  • Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and staff in assigned area.
  • Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED - Required
  • Associate's Degree - Preferred
  • >10 months clinical CT, MRI, Hybrid OR, or one (1) year general radiology experience - Required
  • 2 years experience in two or more modalities - Preferred

Qualifications

  • Current and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and completion of an ARRT accredited Radiology General Procedures program or US military Radiology General Procedures training program - Required
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - Required
  • Current and valid Registered Technologist (RT) license - Required
  • National certification in specialty field - 1 of the following: ARRT, ARMRIT, ARRT-MR, ARRT-CT - Required
  • Current and valid CT or MR license - Preferred

Schedule

  • PRN (as needed) position requiring a minimum of 12 shifts per quarter.
  • Must work one winter holiday, one summer holiday, and one difficult-to-staff day.
  • Must float to at least three HonorHealth locations.
