About the role

As a Multi-modality Technologist, you will be responsible for performing x-ray and CT exams in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry or Radiologic Technology and Radiology Department policies and procedures. The Multi-modality Technologist demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, quality assurance, specialized techniques and adheres to all Corporate Radiation Right policies.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age groups.
  • Follow established scanning and viewing protocols.
  • Operate CT scanner (any models) and related equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet OP customer standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute and challenging patients; possess skills to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of disease processes and produce studies that optimally identify related anatomy.
  • Demonstrate competence in using the power injector; verbalizes limits of use.
  • Scan patients of all ages, tailoring exam to the age/size/weight/special needs of patients.
  • Complete the required documentation on forms, logs, workstation and Meditech.
  • Assist the Radiologist during invasive procedures, demonstrates knowledge of supplies required and ensures availability.
  • Ensure CT and department equipment is functioning properly.

Requirements

  • Aceessory's Degree
  • One year experience as a Radiology Technologist in an acute care setting
  • One year experience performing CT procedures - required
  • Graduate from an accredited approved program in Radiologic Technology
  • Completion of courses in computed tomography (CT) and cross-sectional anatomy
  • Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy
  • Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (R))
  • Certified in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (CT))

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree
  • One year experience as a Radiology Technologist in an acute care setting
  • One year experience performing CT procedures - required
  • Graduate from an accredited approved program in Radiologic Technology
  • Completion of courses in computed tomography (CT) and cross-sectional anatomy
  • Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB)
