About the role

Seeking a dedicated and experienced Multi-Line Claims Examiner to join a team. The successful candidate will handle claims across multiple lines of coverage, with a focus on General Liability, Property Damage, Bodily Injury, and Commercial Auto. This role requires a detail‑oriented professional with a strong background in claims handling and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Pay

Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and interpret policy conditions, exclusions, and endorsements to resolve coverage and liability issues for assigned claims.
  • Prepare reservation of rights letters, non‑waiver agreements, and coverage disclaimers.
  • Evaluate claim reserves to ensure they accurately reflect potential exposure.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including obtaining statements, records, and other evidentiary materials.
  • Document and report on investigation and claims handling activities.
  • Negotiate and resolve claims with claimants, insureds, and their legal representatives, including through mediation, arbitration, or court‑supervised settlement efforts.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Provide direction to defense counsel, independent adjusters, and other third parties involved in claims.
  • Identify and pursue risk transfer opportunities, if applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in:
    • Coverage review, including interpreting policies, agreements, and disclaimers.
    • Claims investigation, including obtaining statements and retaining experts or counsel.
    • Claims administration, including reporting, reserve reviews, and compliance with laws and procedures.
    • Claims settlement, including preparing legal documents and participating in court proceedings when necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of coverage, negligence principles, investigation, and negotiation techniques.
  • Active adjuster license (or ability to obtain and maintain state adjusting licenses as needed).
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload of 100‑125 claims, including litigation cases.
  • Service‑oriented mindset with excellent communication skills to interact with customers, claimants, opposing counsel, and defense counsel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent judgment, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to off‑site locations or overnight as required.
  • Experience handling liability claims in Texas and Oklahoma is preferred.
