Job Summary
The Multi-Line Claim Representative I is responsible for the investigation and adjustment of assigned commercial auto and property claims within a national accounts environment. This role manages claims from assignment through resolution (cradle to grave) while adhering to CCMSI claim handling standards, client-specific instructions, and applicable state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and adjust commercial auto and property claims in accordance with corporate standards, client guidelines, and jurisdictional requirements
- Apply knowledge of commercial auto policies and coverage to determine compensability and exposure
- Conduct thorough liability investigations, including fact gathering, analysis, and documentation
- Apply principles of comparative/contributory negligence in claim evaluation and decision-making
- Establish and maintain appropriate reserves within authority guidelines
- Review damage estimates, invoices, and related documentation for accuracy and claim relevance
- Negotiate settlements within authority limits and in alignment with client expectations
- Issue claim payments in accordance with CCMSI procedures and industry standards
- Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation, diary management, and file updates
- Communicate effectively with clients, claimants, and vendors, ensuring responsiveness and clarity
- Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities where applicable
- Manage claims across multiple accounts within a national account structure
- Ensure compliance with all service commitments and corporate claim handling standards
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of claim handling experience (commercial auto and/or property)
- Foundational understanding of commercial auto coverage
- Experience or training in liability investigations and negligence evaluation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with strong follow-through and accountability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Reliable, predictable attendance during assigned client service hours
- Current adjuster license in home state
- Nice to have: Experience handling multiple accounts in a national or carrier environment, prior TPA experience, additional state adjuster licenses, exposure to general liability claims, bilingual proficiency (Spanish)
