Multi-Line Claim Adjuster

About the role

Mercers Insurance Group is a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast and is seeking a Multi-Line Claim Adjuster to join their Claims Legal team in Buffalo, New York.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships with claims and other internal staff, policyholders, attorneys, agents and a variety of service providers and experts.
• Investigate coverage and liability damages.
• Provide high-level customer service while managing a portfolio of Commercial Auto, Property, General Liability and Umbrella/Excess claims.
• Conduct and direct timely and quality claim investigations, evaluations, and equitable settlements of all assigned claims.
• Ensure timely and accurate reserves consistent with established reserving philosophy and practices.
• Participate in possible travel to attend mediation trials and arbitrations.

Requirements

• A 4-year degree or equivalent work-related experience.
• A minimum of 2 years claims experience handling Commercial Auto, Property, General Liability or Umbrella/Excess claims.
• Skilled negotiator, capable of formulating strategy and action plans for files.
• Professional designations or working towards industry specific designations are a plus.
• Exceptional organizational, time management, desk management, communication and negotiation skills are required.

Pay

The estimated salary for this role ranges from $55,000 - $75,000 based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package. This range is merely an estimate; actual compensation may deviate from this range based on skills, experience and qualifications.
