Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

HEXPOL Compounding Americas (HCA) is an essential early contributor to the global value chain responsible for the safety, quality, and performance of rubber compounding products and components used by original equipment manufacturers across industries such as automotive and transportation, building and construction, consumer and healthcare, oil and gas, industrial, energy, wire and cable, and rollers.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, move, align, erect, or install production/facility/electrical equipment using written/verbal instructions, drawings, samples, or sketches, often to close tolerances with hand tools, power tools, and electrical maintenance knowledge.
• Design, program, repair, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) Systems.
• Complete work orders, PM rounds, repairs, and general maintenance.
• Diagnose trouble and determine extent of repairs necessary; repair, refit, or replace parts.
• Reorder supplies and equipment as needed.
• Lay out carpentry work and specify materials; includes finishing and masonry work.
• Notify Supervisor or designated personnel of any irregularities or problems encountered with supplies, machinery, or processes.
• Participate in training sessions, seminars, and continual improvement opportunities.
• Verify that area and equipment are safe before proceeding with duties; follow all facility safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Adhere to Lock-out/Tag-out procedures when equipment is down for repair or cleaning.
• Maintain tools, tool boards, workstation, and surrounding area in a clean and organized manner.
• Keep equipment in safe operating condition and report problems to the Maintenance department.
• Participate in training of new Associates as directed by the Supervisor.
• Perform any other project/task as assigned by Management.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is desired; Associate Degree or Technical degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Successful completion of Competency Assessment may be considered in lieu of education.
• Three years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, service manuals, and maintenance records.
• Understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatics, HVAC, rubber industry production equipment, internal combustion engines, and single/three-phase electric motors.
• Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and read a tape measure.
• Strong computer/systems skills, including MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook); familiarity with E-Maintenance is a plus.
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong cooperation, collaboration, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• High degree of concentration, attention to detail, high energy, and self-motivation.
• Ability to manage demands, deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events through organization, prioritization, and problem-solving.
• Ability to coach and train Associates and interact well with all personality types.

Pay

Pay Range: $30.90 – $43.26 per hour. Placement within the range is determined by relevant skills and experience based on aptitude test results.
