About the Role

We are seeking an MTA Safety Manager responsible for overseeing overall site safety for MTA/LIRR station construction projects, ensuring compliance with LIRR Track Safety, NYC DOB, OSHA, and project‑specific safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall site safety operations for MTA/LIRR station construction projects, ensuring compliance with MTA, LIRR, NYC DOB, and OSHA requirements.
• Serve as the Head of Safety, overseeing contractors, subcontractors, and field personnel and enforcing project‑specific safety plans and procedures.
• Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Ensure LIRR Track Safety compliance for work performed on or near active railroad tracks, coordinating safe work activities with LIRR personnel.
• Lead safety training, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and emergency response activities while maintaining required safety documentation and records.

Requirements

• Demonstrated safety experience, including serving as the head of safety on at least one transit, commuter rail, or design‑build project.
• Track Safety training for LIRR.
• Successful completion of the 40‑hour NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager Course.
• Successful completion of the 30‑hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health (29 C.F.R. 1926) Course.

Pay

$60 – $65 per hour
