Rivers Health offers a competitive LBEN (low benefits) MT position in the Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specimens from patients in accordance with the hospital's patient relations policy.
• Perform all tests according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Note and document test results, and retest any procedures that fall outside of acceptable ranges.
• Ensure adequate supplies are available to meet anticipated testing volumes.
• Follow safety and infection control policies, as well as all other hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct instrument preventive maintenance as required by departmental policies and procedures.
• Document and perform quality control as a routine part of general testing.
• Participate in proficiency testing as directed by the section head.
• Demonstrate excellence in customer service skills and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Engage in quality improvement activities, including participation on quality improvement teams.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory medicine and possess the necessary certifications and licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
• Experience in specimen collection and laboratory testing preferred.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of infection control practices.

Pay

The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is flexible and will be determined based on department needs.
