About the role
The MSP Systems Engineer is the technical backbone of AMP IT’s team. They own escalations, design and implement client infrastructure, and ensure security and operation of multiple businesses.
Responsibilities
- Own Level 2 and Level 3 escalations across a portfolio of clients
- Design, implement, and maintain client infrastructure: servers, networks, identity, and cloud
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure / Entra, Google Workspace, and core business systems
- Manage and tune our MSP stack: NinjaOne for RMM, Huntress for security, and Iru for Apple device management
- Lead client onboarding, infrastructure projects, and migrations
- Own backup, disaster recovery, and security hardening across clients
- Document thoroughly and mentor Level 1 technicians
- Work AI-native: use AI tools to diagnose, script, and resolve faster, while owning every change you push
Requirements
- You've done real MSP or IT systems engineering work and can walk into a messy environment and fix it
- You're strong across Microsoft 365, Azure / Entra, networking, and endpoint management
- You've embraced AI tools but you're not dependent on them. You understand the systems and can verify the work yourself
- You're calm under pressure and great with clients
- You document well and raise the bar for the whole team
Qualifications
- 4+ years in an MSP or IT systems engineering role
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure / Entra ID administration
- Strong networking on Ubiquiti (UniFi) gear: firewalls, VLANs, VPN, DNS, switching, and Wi-Fi
- Experience with RMM, security / EDR, and MDM tooling (NinjaOne, Huntress, and Iru, or equivalents)
- Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization experience
- Backup and disaster recovery (BCDR) experience
- AI-native: you use modern AI tools to script, troubleshoot, and document faster, and you know their limits
