About the role

The MSL/Senior MSL is a field-based scientific expert that strategically supports the scientific and business objectives of Hematology/Oncology across the product life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Execute high impact territory initiatives, including developing and maintaining territory plans and engaging with healthcare professionals.
  • Identify, gain access to, and develop professional customer-centric relationships with external experts in therapeutic areas within the assigned geography.
  • Deliver on territory plan objectives, meet assigned project deadlines, and achieve annual functional goals.
  • Generate and document meaningful data point observations (DPOs) and practice core capabilities in segmentation, DPOs, and optimal resource utilization.
  • Provide education relative to disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle to healthcare providers and researchers.
  • Maintain cross-functional field partnerships, including relationships with in-field commercial teams, site management, and clinical research associates.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred in a relevant scientific discipline, with a doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical discipline.
  • Greater than or equal to 2 years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Possess problem-solving and analytic skills to identify and translate specific territory and corporate needs into action.
  • Exhibit leadership attributes that align with company-wide initiatives, such as All for One AbbVie, Clear and Courageous, Make Possibilities Real, Agile and Accountable, and Decide Smart and Sure.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply foundational skills in Scientific Storytelling, Identifying Mobilizers, Powerful Questions, and Active Listening.

Requirements

  • Meet healthcare industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time and live in the territory or be willing to self-relocate within the territory.

  • Strong business acumen, clinical expertise, and market awareness.
  • Ability to learn and apply data and analytics to maximize opportunities within the territory.
