MSICU Nurse

About the Role

The Registered Nurse (MSICU) coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department-specific requirements and the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." Your voice influences patient care decisions, from open collaboration with your manager to formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, modeling the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for complete understanding.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy lifestyle changes, disease prevention, and self-management.
• Prepare patients and families for future self-management of care.
• Manage evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver holistic patient treatment plans that promote recovery.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date).
• No travel required.
• Acute care experience required; critical care experience preferred.
