MRO Supervisor

Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates the purchasing of materials, supplies or equipment required by the company.
• Maintains compliance with Government purchasing requirements and regulations, serving as a liaison with Government agencies conducting audits.
• Serves as a supervisor for buyers, ensuring adherence to company policies and meeting overall business needs.
• Negotiates terms of purchase orders, purchase agreements, or subcontracts, including component prices, product improvements, payment terms, lead times, and additional stock to be held at supplier facilities.
• Maintains accuracy of component prices submitted to the government and coordinates product changes within the company to ensure acceptance by the government.
• Issues reports to company management on purchasing activities.
• Locates and develops new suppliers to reduce component prices or introduce new items requested by customers.
• Manages quality issues with purchased materials, obtaining proper credits and disposition of materials.
• Maintains purchases from socioeconomic disadvantaged firms by setting annual goals and increasing purchases from these firms.
• Gathers required bid information and prepares written documentation for responding to solicitations.
• Maintains awareness of commodity pricing for raw materials purchased and recommends buying extra inventory during market depressions.
• Collaborates with production and supporting departments to ensure food safety and quality of products.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree or equivalent college or technical school in a specialty field required.
• 3 years of maintenance supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Experience with graphics-related programs preferred.
• Must demonstrate understanding of manufacturing operations, prioritization, and supervisory skills.
